News: Free films? Yes please!

What could be better than a trip to the cinema? A free trip to the cinema, that’s what! The LSSC and Picturehouse are offering UEL and Birbeck students just that.

The London Screen Studies Collection, Birbeck University, have programmed the stunning The Real East End? series, which they are showing at Picturehouse, Stratford East as part of the London on Screen series.

The Real East End? programme contains six films that explore the often intertwined legends and realities of East End life across the 20th century. Tickets are £5 or free for Birbeck and UEL students.

The programme is below. You can visit the Picturehouse site for more information or to buy tickets.

Also worth checking out is Lights, Camera, London!, the new free exhibition at the London Film Museum in Covent Garden, open daily at 45 Wellington Street, London WC2E 7BN.
